Come along and join the reading fun!Countless studies have shown that children who have lower exposure to books start school well behind their peers and it can take them years to catch up, if they ever do. All this leads to lower confidence, poorer grades and fewer options in life.

As a teacher and librarian for over 25 years, I have become frustrated at the lack of quality books for young children. There is also a severe lack of information for parents like you who want to develop reading and literacy skills before your child starts school.

It is apparent to me that parents want to help their child boost their confidence in reading before they start school but don’t know how! Well, I’m here to help!

Many parents think that learning reading skills is about teaching sounds, phonics and decoding words. This is true to some extent but it’s not the whole story and that’s when most programs fail. You see, there is a lot of groundwork in reading and literacy that must be put in placebefore phonics is taught. If the groundwork is not done then before your child starts school, your child may feel overwhelmed with formal learning.

We call these “foundation skills”. It’s similar to building a strong foundation of a house- without it; anything you build on top doesn’t last.

Are you concerned that your previous attempts to nurture a love of reading may have been a bit hit and miss? That perhaps there are more effective techniques you could be using?

Do you wish the picture books you purchased for your child came with worksheets so as a parent you can be sure you are on the right track and doing the best for your child?

After all, the early years of a child’s development are VITALLY IMPORTANT in building learning foundation skills that will set them up for a successful school journey.

That is why I have developed the Lily and Linus series for your child to enjoy, and tips and tricks for you to nurture a literacy-rich environment at home.

Within just days of receiving my books, you can expect your little one to be happily reading along with the story. You’ll see the delight in their eyes as they realize “Mom, I’m reading just like a big kid!”

BONUS ACTIVITY BOOKLETS accompany each picture book. The Lily and Linus Activity Books contain early childhood literacy and numeracy activities. Download and print these activities that have been carefully developed. Your child will practice:

THESE ACTIVITY BOOKLETS ARE DIRECTLY LINKED TO EACH LILY AND LINUS READER, WHICH WILL ENGAGE YOUR CHILD. They are available in UK/Australian English and… Read more…
