I was not the homecoming king. I was not the valedictorian. Although I wasn’t at the bottom of the class, I wasn’t at the top either. I played hockey but I wasn’t very good at it.

As I went to community college, I was fortunate enough to have befriended, Dan, a sophomore who was also the student trustee. He was doing great for himself and had been accepted to Rice University, UPenn and a number of other great schools I would never have dreamed getting into myself.

Being the student trustee, winning all the scholarships and collecting all the awards he did, along with the university acceptances he received, I’ve was positive that he was always a straight A student.

A secret passed down to him by another “average joe” (named Josh) who had gone on to continue his studies at UPenn after having been accepted at several other prestigious universities such as Cornell, UVA, and USC.

In short, I was third in the line of “average joes” to have the opportunity to apply this “secret” and reap great success with it…

I learned how to succeed academically, make tons of friends and get exactly what I wanted at community college…

It wasn’t hard! Everything just fell into place and came easily once I understood how everything works in addition to what I needed to do!

And I feel so grateful to have such an amazing college experience – it was better than any college experience I could ever ask for…

For the first time, I learned to dream bigger and achieve things that no one who knew me before would have thought possible.

And then, I got to transfer to a top ranked undergraduate business school: New York University, Stern School of Business!

As an unfocused, average joe in high school, I was able to transfer to a university way better than I could have ever imagined.
